newsSikkim Adventure Tourism Fest Runs 1–7 November at Linkhim Tar, Namchi
Registration is open for the week-long festival in Namchi district, which the state is using to promote Sikkim as an adventure destination.

Sikkim's Adventure Tourism Fest 2026 will run from 1 to 7 November at Linkhim Tar in Namchi district, Northeast News reported on 6 October. Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Tshering T. Bhutia announced the dates at a press conference in Gangtok.
The state says the festival is meant to promote Sikkim as a leading adventure tourism destination, and to show its landscapes, culture and adventure activities to local, domestic and international visitors.
How to take part
An official portal for the festival has been launched and registrations are open. The state has also published a QR code that leads to the portal, registration and festival information. A full programme of activities had not been published at the time of the report.
What it means for travellers
- No permit for Indian travellers. Namchi district is in south Sikkim, outside the permit areas. Foreign nationals need the Sikkim Restricted Area Permit, as for any Sikkim trip.
- Book early for the first week of November. Expect busier roads and stays around Namchi and Ravangla.
- Getting there. Namchi is reached by road from NJP or Bagdogra, the same way as Gangtok, turning off NH-10 near Melli.
